Caribbean Resort Almost Paradise

This trip to the Westin Resort in St. John came quite close to being called a trip to paradise. Let's see what was missing.

It's not the threat of tropical storm Chris. After all, the Heavenly Bed, Bath, and relaxing atmosphere of the rooms and the lush green vegetation would have made up for that. People pay hundreds, thousands even, of dollars to enjoy this place.

I did like the workout facilities and the kid's club and shop idea. The water and weather were heavenly, as usual. But it was difficult to find real vegetarian menus anywhere.

You would expect in a time like this when obesity, hich cholesterol, and other lifestyle conditions are at epidemic proportions that places that provide the physical setting conducive to good healthy living would also encourage the leaner, healthier look through diet as well.

When are we going to see more businesses put their money where people's health is, rather than enticing people to put their mouths where the money is? The answer to this may be; when more of us wake up to the real cause of much of the illnesses that are killing us.

Let's hope it will be more of a paradise when I go back to the Virgin Islands.
